District 7 Evaluation/Meeting Minutes
Tuesday, February 10, 2014
The
Evaluation /Winter Meeting of the District 7 Agricultural Educators was held on
February 10th, 2014 at the Ohio FFA Center. The meeting was called to order at 2:20
p.m. by President-Brian Breece.
BUSINESS
MEETING MINUTES!!
- Previous Minutes are
on the web.
- TreasurerŐs Report
- Balance as of
2/10/14 is $2,447.36
- Reminder that dues
are $1 per member each year, and if you havenŐt paid for this year yet,
you need to do so right away.
- Susan will be
getting the gift cards for the upcoming judges.
- Moved by Susan
Metzger to approve her report.
Report will stand as read.
- Chair—Brian

- Our district really
needs teachers to participate in the State Evaluations on February 28th
and March 1st.
Please let Brian or Brenda Correll know if you can help. Each district should have at
least 4 representatives and we only had 1 so far.
- Legislative-Scott
Sharp
- Scott updated us on
the following:
- Reminder to watch
emails in regards to Legislative items.
- Scott passed out
papers on OAAE dues and how to assist payment with those 0.57
dollars.
- Scott also passed
out information on House Bill 59 and how it is based on the state share
to add up to 45 days of extended programming. This could be very useful for those who donŐt have at
least 45 days of extended time.
- Membership-Gina Neff
- Gina encouraged you
to apply for membership to OAAE if you havenŐt already.
- OAAE applications
are out and you are encouraged to apply
- NAAE Conference is
June 24-26th in Lexington, KY
- CDE—Tom Holton
- Reminder about the upcoming
CDE online tests for this year.
- Job Evaluations/Ag
Sales is Wednesday, Feb. 12th at Lancaster
- District Public
Speaking is Wednesday, Feb. 19th at Amanda-Clearcreek.
- AIDS is Saturday,
Feb. 22nd at Evolution Ag
- The first heat will
start at 7 a.m. and second heat at 10 a.m.
- Ag Mechanics at Teays Valley on
March 4th
- Watch the calendar
for upcoming dates.
- It was moved by Kim
Weiss and 2nd by Debra Burden to move to get the Greenhand
Quiz moved back to May to be tested with the Cooperative/Grain/etc
tests. During the motion Kim
Weiss also amended the motion to include 8th graders in that
test. Amendment died due to
lack of a second. Motion then
failed for Tom to take this to the CDE Committee.

new teachers seem to be getting along good.
- Scott Sharp
encouraged them that if they needed help with anything to please call any
Ag teacher in our District that we would all be glad to help them
too.

check the website for correct spellings and results BEFORE plaques are
printed.
- Alumni—Jeff

- Deadline for new
membership is April 1st so please get them in to Lexie
ASAP.
- Other—
- State Officer /
Election of our District President will take place at the State
Convention. Absentee ballots
will still be accepted. Watch
your email closer to convention for those details.
- District Officer
Training is March 12th at Fairfield Union at 4:00 p.m. Please turn in reservations prior
so they can plan accordingly.
- State and American
degrees needs to be fixed and need to be at Lancaster by 5:00 p.m. at the
Ag Sales/Job Interview Contest in order to be verified and forwarded to
the state.
- The Spring Ag
Teachers Meeting will be April 16th at 4 p.m. at the Ohio FFA
Center.
- Tom Holton moved
that we return to having our district meeting before any reports from
the state department.

Motion passed unanimously.
