District 7 Evaluation Meeting Minutes
Monday, February 9th, 2015
The
Winter/Evaluation Meeting of the District 7 Agricultural Educators was held on Monday,
February 9th, 2015 at the Ohio FFA Center. The meeting was called to order at 3:09 p.m. by President-Brian
Breece.
BUSINESS
MEETING MINUTES!!
- Previous Minutes are
on the web and they will stand as read.
- TreasurerŐs Report
- Balance is $3,849.69
- Reminder that dues
are $1 per member each year, and if you havenŐt paid for this year yet,
you need to do so right away.
- Please make sure
that you are sending it to Southeastern and not any of SusanŐs previous
schools.
- Moved by Susan
Metzger to approve her report.
Report will stand as read.
- Legislative-Scott
Sharp
- Scott updated us on
the following:
- Reminder to watch
emails in regards to Legislative items.
- Scott encouraged joining
OAAE and how to assist payment with those 0.57 dollars.
- Kasich is proposing
a 5 tier funding, with Ag still in the top tier and is proposing to
increase funding over the next 4 years.
- Membership-Gina Neff
- Gina encouraged you
to apply for membership to OAAE if you havenŐt already and pay your dues.
- Check out the
website for NAAE Grant Applications.
- CDE—Tom Holton
- 2/11—Ag Sales
at Lancaster. 3:30 pm start
time
- 2/19—Public
Speaking at Amanda Clearcreek.
They do not need manuscripts early this year but still bring with
you for checkoff. It is
still first come, first serve at 3:00 p.m.
- 3/3—Ag
Mechanics at Teays Valley.
Need to bring 3 like stations if you have a team competing.
- 3/24—Outdoor
Power at Teays Valley
- 3/28—APD
(Tractor Trouble Shooting) at Franklin Equipment. Contact Jeff Kennedy about 8 or
10:30 a.m. shift.
- Ag Communications
for 4/8 has moved to Tuesday, 4/7, at 3:30. Let Scott Sharp know if you are adding on. You need to have proposals to
Scott before March 31st.
- Camp Board—Adam
Staley
- There are a lot of
changes going on.
- The high ropes
course has been leveled to make room for a storage barn.
- They are planning
breaking ground on the new building.
- Cash flow is up
right now which is great.
- Mentor—Debra
Burden
- All seem to be doing
well so far.
- For those who are
new, please feel free to call Debra or any other teacher in our district
as we would all love to help you.
- Trophies—Jeff
Tilley
- We will continue to
use the same trophy vendor unless anyone objected. No objections.
- Just a reminder to
check the website for correct spellings and results BEFORE plaques are
printed.

Committee—Rachel Scior
- State Staff made
announcements prior to evaluations regarding changes to FFA Officer
Team. And State Convention
is now expanding to the Bricker Building and registration costs are going
up to $25 and $7 adults.
á Unfinished Business
o District Officer Training is scheduled for March 11th
at Fairfield Union at 4:00 p.m.
Please be sure to watch your email and RSVP by the deadline so they can
get a count
o Spring Meeting is April 15th at 4 p.m. at
the Ohio FFA Center.
á New Business
o Gina Neff moved to donate $50 to the Ohio FFA
Foundation. 2nd by
Scott Sharp. Motion Passed.
o Adam Staley moved to send to delegate council that
those grading the National Chapter Award applications have to put their name on
it if grading it to take responsibility when marking zeros on sections during
grading. 2nd by Tom
Holton. During discussion, Rachel
Scior moved to amend the motion by striking out zeros on sections and insert
all applications. Matt Weade 2nd
the amendment. Amendment
passed. Then the motion as amended
passed.
o Rachel Scior moved to adjourn the business meeting. Susan Metzger seconded it. Motion passed.
