Amanda-Clearcreek FFA Alumni Meeting Minutes

The quarterly meeting of the Amanda-Clearcreek FFA Alumni was called to order by Vice-President, Ben Blosser on March 17, 2013 at 6:30 P.M. at the Amanda-Clearcreek High School in the Ag Ed Classroom. There were 16 members present: Jeff Tilley, Mark Francis, Jennifer Blosser, Ben Blosser, Crystal Groves, Justin Groves, Christian Hoffman, Brynn Hoffman, Stacey Sams, Alyssa Jenkins, Amanda Cassidy, J.D. Stover, Brittany Pinkstock, Jenna Ferguson, Josh Cordle, and Jon Singleton.

Minutes of the Previous Meeting: Stacey Sams moved to accept the minutes of the previous meeting. Brittany Pinkstock seconded the motion. The motion to accept the minutes of the previous meeting passed.

Officer Reports: Jeff Tilley held discussion on the Alumni's Certificate of Deposit's status. Jeff Tilley, also discussed the financial report he provided the group. Brynn Hoffman discussed the current article she submitted to the local Town Crier.

Committee Reports:

· Fundraising Committee - There was much discussion held for additional fundraising suggestions. Stacey Sams suggested Rhoad’s fundraising cards and Josh Cordle, also suggested Pizza Hut cards to sell.

· Membership Committee - Jeff Tilley held discussion on the need to contact all present members of the Alumni about attending meetings and events. There was also discussion on a summer trip.

· Scholarship Committee - Jennifer Blosser held discussion about the past scholarship interviews. There were 4 students that applied. There was much discussion held on how to distribute the scholarship funds.

· Public Relations - Jeff Tilley held discussion about the upcoming Thad Davis 5k Run. Mark Francis moved to donate $250.00 to the Thad David 5k Run. Brittany Pinkstock seconded the motion. The motion to donate $250.00 to the Thad David 5k Run passed.

Jeff Tilley suggested for the Alumni to pay the annual dues for anyone who donates $500.00 or more to the chapter. This was verbally agreed to by all present.

Mark Francis moved for the chapter to give two $500.00 scholarships. Brittany Pinkstock seconded the motion. The motion to give two $500.00 scholarships passed.

New Business:

· A-C FFA Update

o Jeff Tilley discussed the current CDE's progress along with the results of the past CDE's, member's applications to Proficiency Awards, State FFA Degrees & American FFA Degrees, mulch and flower bulb upcoming sales, status on the greenhouse, 75th Anniversary of our A-C FFA chapter, upcoming banquet is Saturday, May 11, program status, testing being implemented, possible changes to CDE participation, and our current roster of 173.

· Josh Cordle held discussion on changes being made to our membership incentive program. Members can earn 2 credits in a year to pay for their annual dues. Our total profit for the 2012 French Fry Sales was $2,992. The chapter discussed thoughts on repairing or replacing our fryer.

· Jeff Tilley moved to accept the changed membership incentive program with earning two credits to pay for member's annual dues. Alyssa Jenkins seconded the motion. The motion to accept the changed membership incentive program passed.

· Josh Cordle moved to hold the next meeting at Jeff Tilley's residence on June 8, 2013 at 6 P.M. The date and time was already set at the previous meeting. Brittany Pinkstock seconded the motion. The meeting will be a potluck. The motion to hold the next meeting at Jeff Tilley's residence on June 8, 2013 at 6 P.M. passed.

· There was some discussion held on the issue of our fryer. The group decided to look at Jon Singleton's fryers once they were cleaned up.

· Mark Francis moved to invest our current Certificate of Deposit for another 12 months. Stacey Sams seconded the motion. The motion to invest our current Certificate of Deposit for another 12 months passed.

· Jeff Tilley discussed the current donations made to the Alumni scholarship fund. Jeff Tilley moved to pay the annual dues for any person who donates $500.00 or more to the chapter. Josh Cordle seconded the motion. The motion to pay the annual dues for any person who donates $500.00 or more to the chapter passed.

· There was much discussion held about the upcoming 75th Anniversary of the chapter. Jennifer Blosser, Jeff Tilley, and Brynn Hoffman are going to work on making a 75th Anniversary quilt to auction off. We considering additional options including water bottles, coffee mugs, shirts, etc.

· Christian Hoffman moved to donate $250.00 toward the 75th Anniversary celebration. Josh Cordle seconded the motion. The motion to donate $250.00 toward the 75th Anniversary celebration passed.

· Mark Francis moved to adjourn the meeting. Brittany Pinkstock seconded the motion. The meeting was adjourned at 7:44 P.M.
