Summer at its Best

On July 10th-14th, the Amanda-Clearcreek FFA Chapter sent 40 members to FFA Camp Muskingum this year. Put into teams these young individuals will spend a week with other FFA members in Ohio to learn who they are. Learning to work together and to build new friendships these individuals will have the best week of their lives.

Located in Carroll County, on the banks of Leesville Lake, Camp Muskingum has been offering unique outdoor experiences since 1942. The lake, hillside and forests offer prime opportunities for aquatic and nature studies. We also offer fishing, hiking, boating, swimming and both low and high ropes courses, along with a paintball course.

Between playing different sports, competing for points, and dancing the night away these teens forget their phones and remember the friends they made. When put into a team you are with this group for the rest of the week working together to become the top team with points. To gain points your team will have to come together to win many different games or using your skill with a bow or a gun on the archery and gun range. Along with coming together these young individuals are taught how to properly to use a bow and gun and how to safely use them; this results in there being no injuries or problems at camp.

At camp these young teens also all come together to watch their friends up on a stage blowing them away with their talent at the talent show. They also get to listen to a speaker give them life advice and to never give up. Lastly they all join together on the dance floor to remember their fun week together and to enjoy their last night at camp.

Not wanting to leave, these teens come back every year they can to enjoy what they loved most about camp and to make new, grand memories.
