Next Meeting - The next meeting of the Amanda-Clearcreek FFAChapter will be on Dec. 17th at 7 pm. The Ag Challenge activity willbe FFA trivia. All members in each class are eligible to participate.The Greenhand FFA Degree Ceremony will also be held. The GreenhandDegree is the first degree and FFA member can earn.
State Officer Leadership Night -Several of the Ohio State FFAOfficers visited the A-C High School on Nov. 13th to conduct aleadership workshop. The workshop was based on a Hawaiian theme, andthe main point of the workshop was "Leadership is influence, nothingmore, nothing less." FFA members were encouraged to step out of theircomfort zone and to trust others. Twenty-one members from the A-C FFAattended. They were: Crish Alvey,Amber Hedrick, Josh Knotts, Joe Davis, Megan Fishel, Holly Edwards,Mallory McMaster, Zach McPherson, Alissa Foley, Ralston Foster, RickFoster, Shanna Spencer, Emilee Klamfoth, Joe Althaus, Ryan Foster,Rachel Makarius, Jace Spires, Mark Francis, Angela Davis, JamesBivens, Tiffany Timmons, Sidney Bennett, Megan Miller, Heather Hines,Shawn Godman, Shane Rickly, Brandy Vannoy, Lindsey Turner, WhitneyTurner, and Jennifer Evans.Members from Fairfield Union, LibertyUnion, and Southeastern Ross FFAalso attended.
Parliamentary Procedure -The chapter run-off contest for theParliamentary Procedure contest was held on Nov. 14th. This year'steam consists of: Joe Davis, RachelMakarius, Skyler Baldwin, Jace Spires, Katie Bowman, Beth Fouse,Mallory McMaster, Cassi Slone, Jennifer Bennett, and TrentStrous. Practice and contest datesare listed on the calendar.
Fruit Delivery and Pick-up- Fruit will be delivered on Dec.11th and 12th. It can be picked up by members in the old ag shopuntil 9 pm on the 12th and 13th, and until 5:30 pm on the 14th.Students need to try to deliver the fruit immediately and get themoney into Mr. Tilley ASAP.
Ag Breakfast - The December Ag Breakfast will be held at Bob Evanson Dec. 7th.
Trap Shoot - The A-C FFA's annual trap shoot was held at the Greenresidence on Nov. 10th. We would like to thank Barb and Lonnie Greenfor once again hosting this event. We would also like to thank the following individualsand businesses for donating door prizes: Punky's Tack Shop, SteveManalac of Red Lobster, Buckeye Concrete, and Barb and Lonnie Greenand Trent Thompson.

A-C FFA members attending the trap shootwere: Jenny Green, Sidney Bennett,Zach McPherson, Bryan Hill, Jace Spires, David Thomas, JustinCox, and Ryan Foster.


Ag Olympics - Liberty Union once again hosted the Ag Olympics thisyear on Nov. 29th. At the olympics, members competed in variousactivities, such as a straw bale toss, wheelbarrow racing, a milkchugging contest, corn shelling, bobbing for apples, an egg toss, andtug-of-war. Other schools also attending the olympics were BloomCarrol and Fairfield Union.

Those attending the Ag Olympics were:Angela Davis, Sidney Bennett, MeganFishel, Josh Knotts, Joe Althaus, Kevin Strickler, Mark Francis,Rusty Harvey, Amber Hedrick, Holly Edwards, Jace Spires, DeannaPontius, and Cassie Shaffer. TheA-C FFA placed 3rd overall.

The Ag Olympics is a fun activity, andeveryone that went had a good time. We would like to thank the Liberty Union FFA Chapterfor hosting this event.


Promising Young Women'sConference - The Promising YoungWomen's Conference was held at the Ohio State University on Nov.16th. The A-C FFA sent 19 ladies to this event. They were:Dawn Helber, Sidney Bennett, BrandyVannoy, Tiffany Timmons, Shauna Cornell, Ashley Fausnaugh, Tara Hite,Stacy Manson, Katie Bowman, Deanna Pontius, Rachel Makarius, CassieShaeffer, Tabby Strausz, Amber Hedrick, Holly Edwards, MartinaStanley, Lindsey Smith, Mallory McMaster, and EmileeKlamfoth.

The purpose of this conference is to showwomen the career opportunities they have in agricultural fields. Eachattendee picked three interest areas, and they were able to talk witha person involved in that field. A campus tour of the Ohio StateUniversity was also given.


Hog Roast - The A-C FFA held its annual hog roast on Nov. 7th inthe Ag Ed shop. Over 300 FFA members and guests attended, along withseveral school administrators. Mark Francis provided the hog.

We would like to thank everyone that came tothe hog roast and we hope you had a good time.


State FFA Degrees - Those members who feel they are eligible for theState FFA Degree need to contact Mr. Tilley before the holidayvacation begins.
Food Drive - The A-C FFA, along with the Amanda firefighters, isholding a food drive. Members of the A-C FFA Chapter went out intothe community and dropped off paper bags at homes in Amanda andStoutsville on Dec. 1st and 3rd. A flyer was attached to these bags,asking people to fill them with food items for needy people. Studentswill go back to those houses to collect the bags later in theweek.

All the food collected will benefit theChelsea Hedrick's Christmas for Kids and The Amanda Food Bank,located at the Presbyterian Church. It will help needy families inMadison, Hocking, Clearcreek, and Amanda Townships. For questions andcomments, please call 1-888-707-4984.
