Greenhand FFA Degrees

At the December meeting, the annual Greenhand FFA Degree Ceremony will take place. The Greenhand FFA Degree is available only to first-year members. The degree requires the ability to know and explain the following: the FFA colors, the FFA salute, the FFA motto, the Chapter Program of Activities, the FFA emblem and it's symbols, the National FFA Organization, Ohio FFA Association and the Amanda-Clearcreek FFA Chapter. It also requires a member to have a satisfactory supervised agricultural experience program planned for the current year. The most prominent of the requirements is the member mst have recited the FFA Creed. The FFA Creed was written in 1933 by E.M. Tiffany and is broken down into 5 paragraphs, each of which FFA members are asked to recite to their Agricultural Education Class. Parents should encourage their first year members to pursue this degree.
