Next Meeting - The next meeting of the A-C FFA Chapter will be onJan. 28th. The Ag Challenge activity is a feed bag hold.

The sophomore class members are currentlyworking on obtaining their Chapter FFA Degrees. This involvespresenting a 10-minute prepared speech to their Ag Science II class.All members who earn this degree will receive it at the Januarymeeting.


Blue and Gold Benefit- The Blue and Gold Benefit is thebanquet fundraiser for the FFA Foundation, which supplies all of theawards given to FFA members at the District and State levels. It willbe held on Saturday, Jan. 26th at 4:00 in Columbus.

The A-C FFA has volunteered to help servepeople, clean up, etc. at the banquet. Twelve people are needed tohelp with this activity.


Greenhand FFA Degrees- The A-C FFA Chapter awarded 30members the Greenhand FFA Degree at its December meeting. Thesemembers were awarded the bronze pin for this award by the chapterofficers and the Ohio FFA District 7President, Heather Makarius.Makarius also spoke to the chapter's Greenhands about preparing fortheir "journey" through the FFA during their four years of highschool.

The Greenhand FFA Degree is the first degreeFFA members can achieve. To earn this degree, members mustdemonstrate knowledge of FFA history, the FFA Creed, motto, salute,and other general FFA information through a written test. They alsomust recite the five paragraph FFA Creed in their AgriculturalEducation class. This is the 1st degree of achievement an FFA membercan earn.

Power Show - The A-C FFA has once again volunteered to sellraffle tickets at the Ohio Power Show on Jan. 27th to benefit theOhio FFA Foundation. Last year, we sold more tickets than any chapterin the state, and the year before that, we sold the second mostnumber. The A-C FFA won a Lincoln welder at the State FFA Conventioneach time for selling that quantity of tickets. This is a goal thatwe would like to achieve again this year.
Made for Excellence - Mark Francis, JaceSpires, and Tiffany Timmons willbe attending the Made for Excellence Conference at the Mariott NorthHotel in Columbus on Jan. 26-27.

MFE is an overnight leadership conference.Attendees first take part in several workshops, and then do other funactivities, such as watching movies and doing karaoke.


Proficiency Awards &endash; StateDegrees - Any member wishing to fillout a Proficiency Award or State Degree application needs to see Mr.Tilley immediately, as the deadline for these applications isapproaching.
