The next meeting of the Amanda-Clearcreek will be held on November 18th at 7:00 PM in the Ag Shop.
This Month's Ag Breakfast will be held on November 7th at 7:00 AM at Tee Jay's in Lancaster.


Mr. Falk's Departure

This month, we sadly say goodbye to our visiting student teacher from Ohio State University, Mr. Falk. He has been working closely with sophomores and juniors, helping with various contests, and attending many fun trips with our chapter. He has a permanent place in our hearts and will be missed greatly. His words to the people in Amanda can be found on the back of this month's calendar.


A Successful National Convention

The chapter recently returned from a very fun and educational trip to Louisville, Ky to the 75th Annual National FFA Convention. Mr. Tilley went, along with Mr. Falk as a chaperone. Members attending were: Crish Alvey, Michelle Ball, Josh Behrens, Robert Blosser, Maggie Bowman, Lindsey Carpenter, Amanda Cassidy, Heather Cramer, Dan Flowers, Calvin Hanes, Erika Hardman, Heather Hines, Sara Howard, Cerene Kilbarger, Lindsey Lama, Rachel Makarius, Mallory McMaster, Margo Mcmaster, Megan Miller, Ashley Rodgers, Meagan Silva, Cassi Slone, Jace Spires, June Spires, Martina Stanley, Greg Wehrle, Amie White, Samantha Wiggins and Jenny Zaayer. Heather Makarius also attended with Ohio State. At the convention, FFA Member Robert Blosser received his American Degree.

The chapter attended many enriching sessions, participated in a leadership workshop, toured some Louisville area museums and parks, such as the Falls of Ohio State Park and Museum, the Louisville Stoneware Factory in Louisville, Union Station, and the National Science and History Museum in Cincinnati. Four chapter members competed in the Agricultural Communications career Development Event, placing 15th as a team with a silver rating. Jenny Zaayer received a bronze rating, Meagan Silva and Cassi Slone received a silver rating and Mallory McMaster received a gold rating, placing 4th individually. She received a $500 scholarship from Successful Farming to the college of her choice.

Hog Roast

The chapter's annual Hog Roast will be held on November 20th at 7:00 in the Ag Shop. This event will be potluck style. Freshman and Sophomore parents are asked to bring a dinner item, and Junior and Senior parents are asked to bring a dessert item. The chapter will provide the meat, drinks and rolls. All families will need to provide their own table service. The Hog Roast is an excellent opportunity to get to know members of our FFA Community and see our facilities.
Fairfield County Fair

Most A-C FFA Members exhibited projects at this year's Fairfield County Fair. Those excelling were: Brian Strickler was a class winner with a Market Hog, Jennifer Evans with a Leaf Scrapbook, placing 3rd, and Mallory McMaster with a horse, placing 4th in Huntseat Showmanship and 1st in Pleasure Driving. Congratulations on a successful fair!
State Officer Leadership Night

On November 25th, Ohio State FFA President, Marlene von Stein, along with other state FFA officers will be visiting the Amanda-Clearcreek school building to provide a State Officer Leadership Night. Members from District 7 will be invited to attend. The state officers will meet members and conduct leadership workshops. Refreshments will be provided by the A-C FFA for all who attend.
Parliamentary Procedure Called to Order

Tis' the season for Parliamentary Procedure. This year's team consists of: Jace Spires, Katie Bowman, Beth Fouse, Rachel Makarius, Mallory McMaster, Trent Strous, Joe Davis, Cassi Slone, Sandy Larson, Debbie Picklesimer and Erika Hardman. The Parliamentary Procedure contest judges a student's ability to properly conduct a business meeting according to Robert's Rules of Order. Practices will be held on November 13th, 17th, 24th, 27th, December 4th and December 8th. The District contest will be held on Monday, December 9th after school.
