Each member must have a total of 8 summer hours by the beginning of school next year. Refer to the chapter calendars for exact times and any changes that might be made. Adopt a highway cleanup. August 1st, be at school at 10:00 A.M. North Market Ag Awareness Day. August 8th at 6:00 PM at school to prepare and August 10th at 8:30 AM to go to Columbus. Canoe Trip, August 21st - be at the school at 9:00 AM with clothes you can get wet in. Ohio FFA Center Hosting: August 13th, 7:30 AM. You need to be in official dress for this event. Tarlton Fish Fry, June 27th - Be at the Town Hall at 3:00 PM | If you attended this year's banquet on May 19th, you know that our chapter had an outstanding year. Some of the awards were: DeKalb Leadership Award: Mark Francis Memorial Award: Heather Hines and Jace Spires. Made For Excellence Award: Crish Alvey, Mallory McMaster, Holly Edwards, Jenny Zaayer and Amanda Cassidy. Star Greenhand Award: Heather Hines. Star Chapter Award: Ryan Foster, Angela Davis and Brandy Vannoy. Thank you to all who attended. We hope to see you back at the banquet next year! On May 24th, several of the chapter's top members embarked on a weekend camping trip to Carter Caves State Park in Kentucky. The members attending were: Jace Spires, Erin Gilfillen, Mallory McMaster, Brian Bussert, Cassi Slone, Brad Bowers, Skyler Baldwin and Greg Wehrle. Mr. Sharp and Mr. Tilley also went. The members enjoyed cooking with a campfire, hiking, caving and a long walk to the nearest restroom. They also took a guided tour of Cascade Cave. Thanks to all members who sold mulch, and we look forward to having a great trip next year. The chapter is participating in the 4th and 5th sessions of FFA Camp at Ohio FFA Camp Muskingum. The 4th session will run from July 15 through the 19th and the 5th session will run from July 22nd to July 26th. Some activities at camp include: canoeing, kayaking, motorboats, tennis, volleyball, softball, rifle, archery and shotgun ranges, basketball, swimming, fishing, a nature center, nature hikes, high ropes, dances, a talent show, public speaking contests... the list goes on forever. Many members have participated in camp in the past, and most loved the experience. The following members will be attending the 4th session: Nick Boso, Heather Bussert, Lindsey Carpenter, Amanda Cassidy, Justin Cox, Rick Foster, Beth Fouse, Erin Gilfillen, Kristen Graves, Heather Hines, Christian Hoffman, Emilee Klamfoth, Rachel Makarius, Mallory McMaster, Brandy Saum, Meagan Silva, Cassi Slone, Jace Spires, Bobbi Thomas, David Thomas, Lindsey Turner, Whitney Turner, Samantha Wiggins and Jenny Zaayer. The following members will be attending the 5th session: Crish Alvey, Skyler Baldwin, Eric Cox, Megan Miller, Bryan Hill, Brandon Johnston, and Greg Wehrle. There is still room in the fifth session for any member who still wishes to attend; if interested, contact Mr. Tilley asap. Every participating member must be at the school by 8:00 AM the day your session starts. It is recommended to bring bed sheets or a sleeping bag, a pillow, a ball glove, swim wear, and outdoor clothes. You can also bring your fishing pole and bow if you wish. Do not bring a CD-player or any tobacco products.
