FFA Camp

Summer is nearing and we all know you don't want to be stuck at home with nothing to do, right? So how about FFA camp? It is an excellent activity. You can meet new people, as well as spend time with your fellow members of the Amanda-Clearcreek FFA chapter. You can enjoy activities such as: high ropes, rock climbing, swimming, boating, canoeing, spend some time at the shooting range, play basketball, sand volleyball, go swimming, and even go on overnight hikes. The best part about this whole experience is it is only $85 (or less) for all this fun, depending on your participation in chapter fund raisers. Did I mention that it counts for all of your summer hours? FFA camp is also a requirement activity for your state degree. Yes, you can have one of the best times of your life and still get credit for it. So don't delay turn your permission forms in a.s.a.p. Camp will be July 14th-18th. There is a limited number of spots available for campers. Mr. Tilley needs all money and forms turned in to him in April. Don't miss out on the fun!
A-C FFA Alumni Involvement

The Amanda Clearcreek FFA Alumni is a support group who pay dues and is almost always willing to help out our FFA chapter. Recently, a few of those members helped the chapter out. Heather Makarius helped the Poultry team, Eric Valentine helped the General Livestock team, and Ben Blosser helped the Agronomy team. In doing so they devoted their time to teach us skills we would need to successfully do well at the spring contests. We also would like to recognize James Heidell for helping referee the volleyball tournament we had at our March meeting. He was a big help due to the fact Mr. Sharp was out with the new baby. Congratulations Mr. Sharp for the birth of your new baby girl.

Mulch Trip

Those members who participated in the 2003 mulch sale and sold over 150 bags, being one of the top fifteen mulch sellers, are given the chance to go on a camping trip to be held May 30 through June 1st. They will be doing light rafting and wild caving. More details will be given about this event in the May newsletter.
State Skills Contests

The state skills contests for all spring contests except wildlife management will be Saturday, April 5th, at the Ohio State Fair Grounds. These contests are the most important contests so far. We practice for this contest at the Marysville and Mt. Gilead invitational's. Anyone who is participating needs to be at the school at 7:15 a.m. Don't be late! Good luck to all contestants!
