May Meeting

The May FFA meeting will be held on May 12th at 7:30 p.m. in the Ag Shop. This will be the only meeting before the banquet to be held on Saturday May 18th. The ag-challenge for this meeting is the peddle tractor pulls. In this event a male and a female from each of the classes; freshman, sophomores, juniors, and seniors compete against each other to see who gets the longest pull.
Chapter FFA Banquet

The chapter FFA banquet will be held on May 17th at 4 p.m. in the new gym. This is a required event for all chapter FFA members. Every member is expected to follow official dress as closely as possible. This means tie/scarf, black slacks or skirt, white dress shirt, black shoes, and if you have an FFA jacket it should be worn.

This is a carry-in event. Freshman and Sophomores need to bring a dinner item and Juniors and Seniors should bring a dessert item. The chapter will provide: ham, chicken, rolls, drinks, and table service.

This is a great event. You can enjoy great food as well as see people you know get recognized. This is going to be the last year in the old school and the officer team would like to make this banquet one to remember. So if you were a past Amanda Clearcreek FFA officer or were a member, or just a loyal community supporter we would also love to have you attend the 2003-2004 FFA banquet. Remember this is a family event. Bring them with you. Please come and show your support for the Amanda-Clearcreek FFA Chapter and it's members.

She is the only person in the chapter history to do so. Heather Makarius a previous competitor of the poultry judging team and A-C FFA Alumni member, helped them study for this event.

The Wildlife Management team consisting of Devon Timmons, Heather Hines, and Cerene Kilbarger placed 15th as a team in the state, receiving a silver rating. Congratulations; all of you placed very well.

We will be going up on Friday for the sessions and the dance. On Saturday, the option of going back up has also been given. At this session, a few of our fellow chapter members will be recognized. On Friday, Jace Spires and Erin Gilfillen will receive recognition for their gold rated officer books. Friday night, Jace Spires and Beth Fouse will be recognized for being in the top three in the state in their given proficiency award area. Those members being recognized on Saturday are Ryan Foster, Jace Spires, and Rachel Makarius, as they will be receiving their State FFA degrees. The chapter will also receive recognition for being a gold rated chapter, placing 27th in the state. The chapter will also receive recognition for being one of the top gator raffle ticket sellers. We will not know how we placed until Saturday.
Ag Challenge Points

At every FFA meeting, we have an ag challenge. The ag challenge is a competition that the chapter has among the members. The teams are split up into grade levels. Freshman, Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors. Then they participate in the specified activity for that night. The winning team receives a set number of points then the second place team receives a little less and so on and so forth. The points add up through out the school year and at the last meeting for the school year the chapter has a cookout and the winning class receives steak instead of the usual hot dogs. The points are currently as follows:

Freshman-18

Sophmores-39

Juniors-21

Seniors-40

As of right now the senior class is winning, but, there is still more than enough time for someone to beat them. Look out seniors the juniors and sophomores are following close behind. And remember that grades, contests, and meeting attendance also count.
Summer FFA Camp

FFA camp is almost here. We have only had a few responses from people who want to go. It is a great opportunity to get your summer hours this year and have a great time. It is held in Muskingum county. There are many fun activities you can take part in. Some of those activities are canoeing, camping, archery, backpacking, etc. Every member is required to get eight summer hours and this is a great opportunity to receive your hours. So don't delay; turn your application in today! For more information, see: http://www.ffacamp.com.
