FFA Meeting

The next FFA Meeting will be held on, Monday, January 23rd at 7 P.M. in the Ag Center. At this meeting, we will be honoring those members who are eligible to receive their Chapter FFA Degree. The Chapter FFA Degree is the highest degree that a chapter can bestow upon its members. Remember, if you are planning on being a chapter officer, the Chapter FFA Degree is a requirement. The Ag Challenge for this meeting will be the feed bag hold. As always, one male and one female from each class will be needed to compete. Remember, if you have already done an individual Ag Challenge you are not eligible for other individual Ag Challenges. This will also be the last meeting before we will elect new chapter officers for the 2006-2007 school year.

Made For Excellence Conference

Made for Excellence (MFE) is a two-day personal development conference designed primarily for high school freshman and sophomores. MFE focuses on personal growth by providing students with many interactive opportunities. FFA members identify skills needed and desired for success. These activities provide participants with tools of motivation that are relevant to their everyday lives. Through fun and experiential learning students discover careers available in agriculture and the growth opportunities available within FFA. At the close of the conference and beyond, participants will be making more purposeful, meaningful choices that will lead them to excellence. This year’s MFE participants are: T.J. Miller, Jessica Caisse, Kayla Notestone, Judd Ellinger, Jessie Berisford, Megan Underhill, and Christine Boso. Most of these members all had to apply and were selected to attened the MFE Conference at last year’s Awards Banquet.

Ag Sales CDE

The marketing of agricultural products is key to profitability in today’s competitive economy, and agricultural sales play a major role in the marketing process. Through this CDE, students will save the opportunity to demonstrate skills in sales by participating in a wide range of activities oriented around the total sales process. The District Ag Sales CDE will be held on January 24th at Lancaster H.S. Members who have signed up for this contest are: Brittany Manson, Shaelyn Iles, Ashley Lamb, Jessie Berisford, and D.J. Hopkins. We will be having a run-off test to determine who the four team members will be in early January.

Job Interview CDE

The Ohio Job Interview CDE is designed for  FFA members to practice and demonstrate  the skills needed in seeking employment in  all areas of agriculture. Each part of this  event simulates real world experiences that  students will have when seeking  employment in the future.   The District Job Interview CDE will be held on January 24th at Lancaster H.S.
