The monthly chapter FFA meeting is at 7:00 P.M. on Monday, Jan. 28th, in the Ag Center. The Ag. Challenge will be the feed bag hold. At the meeting, the members receiving their Chapter FFA Degree will be recognized. This is the highest degree that the chapter can bestow upon one of its members. Members have to be a sophomore, have their Greenhand FFA Degree and meet other requirements including a ten minute speech. Members must earn this degree to run for a chapter office or earn their State FFA Degree.
“It was a new contest for me and was pretty difficult. We did good, and hopefully we work hard to do something great in the National CDE in October.” - Josh Cordle
Congratulations to these members on this special accomplishment. They are encouraged to get their Chapter FFA Degree next year.
The team consisting of Alyssa Jenkins, Ryan Davis, Ray Spence, Jodi Roush, Garren Dilley, Brittany Pinkstock, David Sams, Scott Loudermilk, Eddie Johnson, and Sara Russ placed 3rd in the District 7 Parliamentary Procedure contest. Congratulations to this team on their effort and hardwork.
Brittany Pinkstock said, ”The lights were pretty and ice skating was a blast!”

Any junior, senior or other graduate member interested in getting their State FFA Degree needs to see Mr. Tilley or Mr. Sharp ASAP. Completed applications and all supporting project books will be due by the end of January.
On Thursday, Jan. 24th, members need to be at the school by 6:45 A.M. for Ag. Breakfast. The menu is: Fruit, Egg Casserole, Cinnamon Rolls, Bacon, Sausage Gravy, Milk, and Juice.
Ag Sales: The marketing of agricultural products is key to profitability in today’s competitive economy, and agricultural sales play a major role in the marketing process. Through this CDE, students will save the opportunity to demonstrate skills in sales by participating in a wide range of activities oriented around the total sales process. The Ohio Job Interview CDE is designed for FFA members to practice and demonstrate the skills needed in seeking employment in all areas of agriculture. Each part of this event simulates real world experiences that students will have when seeking employment in the future. These contests will be held at Lancaster High School at 3:00 P.M on Tuesday, Jan. 22nd. If any member is interested in either of these contests see Mr. Tilley or Mr. Sharp ASAP.
The 4-H Club meeting for these contests will be in the Ag Center at 7:00 P.M on Tuesday, Jan. 22nd. You have to attend these meetings to participate in these contests. Both of these contests help members learn how to find a problem, fix it, and all the tools associated with small engines and/or tractors. This is very beneficial to members that live or work on a farm. If you are interested please see Mr. Tilley or Mr. Sharp ASAP.
