Next FFA Meeting
The next A-C FFA meeting will be held on Monday, April 17th 2023. The Ag challenge for this meeting is a Volleyball Tournament. For this, students will play in a volleyball tournament with the freshmen playing the sophomores and the juniors playing the seniors. The winners will meet in the 2nd round then play for first and second while the losers will meet in the conciliation round to play for 3rd and 4th. Any time a team is on the floor and playing, they must have 3 female players and 3 male players for a total of six on the court for each team at once. Other players should be rotated in on the serve.
Upcoming Events
Mulch & Flower Bulb Sale
The Amanda-Clearcreek FFA chapter is currently in the middle of their annual mulch and flower bulb sale. All members are encouraged to participate in these fundraisers, because the funds from them allow the chapter to go on all of the trips and activities that they do. Members are also reminded to turn in all money and receipts to Mr.Tilley ASAP so he can order the mulch. If you have any questions or are interested in these sales, either talk to an A-C FFA member. These sales will go through the end of April. Everyone should do their part and try to sell 40 - 60 bags.
April Ag Breakfast
The April Ag Breakfast will take place on April 14th at Frishes at 6:00 A.M. All members are encouraged to come. This is an excellent event to eat good food and talk to others before school starts. Members should wear their FFA shirts or jackets for extra points.
State FFA Camp
This summer is a great opportunity to attend FFA Camp from July 10th to July 14th. FFA camp comes with a lot of adventures to meet new friends and step out of your comfort zone. Students will participate in many leadership activities throughout this week. Please plan on attending FFA Camp this summer.
State Convention
Members will have the opportunity to go to the Ohio FFA State Convention May 4th-5th in Columbus Ohio at the State Fairgrounds. Many of our FFA Members will be recognized at the convention for their hard work and dedication throughout this year. We will also be celebrating Hannahs year as our State Vice President. Hannah will also be running for state president this year as well. Good Luck Hannah!!!!
FFA Banquet
Mark your calendars for May 13th as we celebrate our 85th year of being an FFA Chapter. Food will be provided as well as our annual potluck dinner. All members should plan on attending and beginning your potluck items to the banquet. Past officers will be recognized as well as all of our chapter’s accomplishments this year.
Upcoming CDE Contests
Outdoor Power Equipment: This CDE tests members’ knowledge and understanding of small gasoline engines. This contest, which will take place on April 25, consists of various stations where contestants must install valves, complete a parts ID, and answer questions that deal with lubricants, measuring with a micrometer and Tool ID. The team will also take a multiple choice test. Our chapters team consists of Chase Hanna, Mason Jones and Travis Spence.
Agricultural Issues Forum: This team CDE challenges students to investigate a variety of current local, state, national and international issues facing agriculture through classroom instruction. Students then demonstrate through a portfolio, and many forum presentations to relevant groups the principles and fundamentals of agricultural issue analysis. The state contest will take place on April 29th with our team consisting of Madison Cordle, Caidyn Garee, Madelyn Anderson, Catherine Buckly, and Emma Strickler.
Agricultural Mechanics Engineering: Students will perform mechanical skills necessary to pursue career opportunities in the agricultural industry. They will learn and apply technical knowledge and skills related to electrical and hydraulic systems and metallurgy in relation to hot and cold metals. Additionally, students will apply skill components of metal fabrication applicable to the agricultural industry. Throughout the competition, students will learn critical site and personal safety as well as communication and leadership skills. This team consists of Henry Poor, Autumn Perry, and Reed West. We would like to thank Bob Brown and Central Ohio fabrication for helping are members prepare for this contest.
