To add on to all of this convention excitement, our very own Morgan Anderson will be leading numerous sessions and delivering her retiring address at National FFA Convention as a result of being the 2023-2024 National Eastern Region Vice-President. We are so proud of Morgan and how she has represented our chapter and state in such a positive way! And if that wasn’t enough, Mr. Sharp and Mr. Tilley will both be receiving their Honorary American FFA Degrees on stage during convention. What a year!

Fall Fruit and Snack Sale: On October 14th, A-C FFA will begin its annual Fall Fruit and Snack Sale. The chapter is selling a wide variety of goods this year. This sale brings a lot of funds for future activities, so it is crucial that each member does their part in this sale. If interested please contact an A-C FFA member of Mr. Tilley.

Upcoming Career Development Events (CDEs)

Agricultural Communications CDE: On October 23rd, the A-C FFA Agricultural Communications CDE team will compete at the National Convention. The team consists of Catherine Buckley, Maddie Cordle, Haley Robinson and Emma Strickler. After winning the state contest for Ohio last February, this team earned the opportunity to compete nationally. The Agricultural Communications CDE allows students to engage in real-life promotional activities and work in a team environment to expand other’s knowledge of the agricultural industry. At the contest, the team will be given three hours to complete four individual practicums (a feature story, magazine layout,  broadcast production and social media plan), as well as a three-page communications plan. These written portions of the contest will be based on information provided in a press conference that the participants will attend. This year is the 11th time that the A-C FFA Chapter has represented the state of Ohio at the National Convention for the Ag. Comm. CDE. Best of luck to these members!

Animal Management CDE: For the Animal Management CDE, participants will first complete an online examination to test their knowledge of different pet shop animals, breeds and supplies. The top four scores from each chapter will make up the team. Members will take this online test on October, 15th. Good luck!

Aquarium Management CDE: This Career Development Event requires members to first take an online exam, then the top four scores will make up the team. The Aquarium Management exam will test member’s on their knowledge of freshwater aquariums and marine aquariums. Good luck to our members as they will take this exam on October 15th!

Job Interview CDE: The Job Interview CDE prepares students for real-life interactions with employers as they prepare to enter the workforce. This contest requires students to submit a resume and cover letter, complete a job application and in-person interview, then write a follow up letter at the conclusion of the interview. The following members are representing A-C FFA in this contest in their respective categories: Freshmen - Riley Strickler, Sophomore - McKenna Singleton, Junior - Emma Strickler, Senior - Maddie Cordle, First Year Junior/Senior - Ellie Moss. These members will compete in the County Contest on October 14th. The top two from County will advance to the District level. Additionally, Madelyn Anderson will be competing at the National Convention in the Employment Skills CDE contest as a result of winning the state contest last fall! Best of luck to our members!
