Amanda-Clearcreek FFA Alumni Meeting Minutes

 

The quarterly meeting ofthe Amanda-Clearcreek FFA Alumni was called to order by President Nick Greinerat 6:40 P.M on March 21, 2010 at the Stoutsville Firehouse. There were 16members; Scott Sharp, Joel Spires, Nick Greiner, Christian Hoffman, BradBowers, Amanda Cassidy, Brittany Pinkstock, Alyssa Jenkins, J.D. Stover, DavidSams, Laurie Travis, Jeff Tilley, Crystal Covell, Eric Valentine, BeckyEllinger, and Mike Ellinger. Two guests were also present: Nanette Pearce andJustin Groves.

         Joel Spires moved toaccept the minutes from the previous meeting. Jeff Tilley seconded the motion.The motion to accept the minutes from the previous meeting passed.

Officer Reports:Jeff Tilley went over the alumni’s financial report. Christian Hoffman sent outan article to two newspapers for the alumni. Mike Ellinger moved to accept theofficer reports. Brittany Pinkstock seconded the motion. The motion to acceptthe officer reports as read passed.

Committee Reports:There were reports from the following committees: Social Activities, MembershipRecruitment & Retention, and Student Scholarship. Christian Hoffman movedto accept the committee reports as presented. Brad Bowers seconded the motion.The motion to accept the committee reports as presented passed.

New Business

Š     JeffTilley had brief discussion about results from last meeting and decisions

Š     A-CFFA Chapter Update

o    Greenhouse

§     JeffTilley discussed the latest with the progress with the greenhouse.

o    CDE’s

§     JeffTilley and Scott Sharp discussed the upcoming help needed with CDE’s andresults from past ones.

o    State& American FFA Degree Candidates

§     JeffTilley read the list of recent candidates and status of the American FFADegrees.

o    Mulch

§     JeffTilley discussed on the status of the mulch sale being held by the students.

o    SpringFlower Bulbs

§     Theflower bulb sale is currently taking place along with the spring mulch sale.

o    ParticipationFee Proposal

Š     Therewere discussion held by the group, also, about the following activities: SpringFish Fry, French Fry Sales at Football games this Fall, OSU fund raising,Liability insurance (effective until August), Membership dues changes, visitingother FFA alumni chapters, and Levy impacts on Ag program & the schooldistrict in general.

Š     ScottSharp moved to donate $200.00 to the Area 6 Special Olympics. Eric Valentineseconded the motion. There was discussion held by Jeff Tilley. The motion todonate $200.00 to the Area 6 Special Olympics passed.

Š     ScottSharp moved to donate $200.00 to the Levy Campaign. David Sams seconded themotion. The motion to donate $200.00 to the Levy Campaign passed.

Š     ScottSharp moved to pay Nanette Pearce’s annual dues. Amanda Cassidy seconded themotion. The motion to pay Nanette Pearce’s annual dues passed.

Š     NickGreiner moved to send representatives (at least 2) to the athletic boostersmeeting. Jeff Tilley seconded the motion. The motion to send representatives tothe athletics booster’s meeting passed.

Š     JeffTilley moved to work and sell French Fries at the Cole-McCafferty track meetand offer no more than 10% commission. David Sams seconded the motion. Themotion to work and sell French Fries at the Cole-McCafferty track meet andoffer no more than 10% commission passed.

Š     EricValentine moved to adjourn the meeting. Scott Sharp seconded the motion. Themeeting was adjourned at 8:24 P.M.
