Cross Mound Park Clean-up

Cross Mound Park is one of many parks that make-up the Fairfield County Parks system and is located in the southern part of our school district on Sixteenth Road near Tarlton. The Amanda-Clearcreek FFA Chapter has 'adopted' this park as the park that we try to take care of in our area. The chapter has installed most of the split rail fence that is found in the park, with the fence around the mound being one of our first projects there. The chapter also adds perennial flowers and mulch each year at the entrance of the park and tries to maintain the trails. Unfortunately, one of our main tasks usually ends up being the painting over of graffiti at the shelter house and management of the destruction caused to the trails by trespassing ATV riders. Generally, the chapter has scheduled work days at the park in the spring, during the summer and in the fall.
